Verenika Perla | Symbiotic Drift
Verenika Perla’s practice is rooted in paradox, multiplicity, and the search for exits from dualistic thinking. Working across painting and installation, she investigates perception as a fluid, unstable field where logic falters and new forms of meaning emerge. Her works create an experience of “reset vision,” inviting viewers to assemble their own sense-making without predetermined rules.
Perla draws on psychology, optics, and quantum theory to construct multilayered visual and emotional environments. Rather than fixed images, her practice develops sensations of transitional states, oscillating between clarity and indeterminacy.
She studied at the Moscow School of Contemporary Art and has participated in workshops with leading Russian contemporary artists. Recent exhibitions include Abstract (Molbert Gallery, Saint Petersburg, 2025) and the MSCA Graduate Exhibition (GUM-Red-Line, Moscow, 2025). She has been shortlisted for the Leshchuk Foundation Prize (2025) and received the national Palitra Talantov Award (2024).
