KISI | Symbiotic Drift
KISI (Volha Firsaua) is a Belarusian-born artist based in Amsterdam. Her practice revolves around archiving contemporary life across both real and virtual spaces, investigating how context shapes meaning, how communication structures identity, and how everyday interactions become cultural artifacts. Working between technology, architecture, sculpture, and performance, she creates situations where viewers are invited to experience emotion and reflect on the instability of perception.
Multimedia is a central condition of her artistic approach. Rather than confining herself to one medium, she constructs hybrid environments where irony and tenderness coexist. This dual tone allows her works to remain direct and emotionally resonant while questioning how we understand objects, events, and ourselves within shifting realities.
She studied media arts at the School of Contemporary Art “Conception” and the MMOMA Free Workshops in Moscow, after training in mathematics at Gomel State University. Recent projects include After Life (Losdok, Amsterdam, 2025), See Results (Kunsthalle Nummer Sieben, St. Petersburg, 2021), and participation in the VII Moscow International Biennale of Young Art (MMOMA and 25KADR Gallery, 2020).
