Iurii Chernyshev | Symbiotic Drift
Iurii Chernyshev is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of television, new media, and contemporary art. With a background in TV production and design, his practice explores the transformative potential of media, treating screens and digital interfaces as spaces for intuition, experimentation, and altered perception.
His work is shaped by an interest in the emotion of shyness — both as a catalyst for self-discovery and as an unseen force that shapes identity. Using everyday objects, video, and poetic interventions, he examines how digital flicker, chance, and fragmented narratives generate new ways of seeing and being.
Chernyshev’s projects have been presented at La Biennale di Venezia (2019) and ArtMosSphere (Moscow, 2023). He recently completed a residency at GES-2, V–A–C Foundation (Moscow, 2025).
