Inga Allakova | Symbiotic Drift
Inga Allakova (b. 1988, Turkmenistan) is an artist based in Spain. Her practice explores human existence, oblivion, and loss through themes of vulnerability and the human condition. Drawing on personal experience, memory, and family history, she connects past, present, and future, delving into the cyclical nature of life and death to examine loneliness, the fear of disappearance, and acceptance.
Working with materials emotionally or physically connected to her – such as hair, body casts, and family photographs – Allakova treats them as fragments of identity and carriers of memory. Combined, these traces form narratives that transcend the personal and inscribe themselves in the collective human experience.
She studied at the Moscow School of Contemporary Art and the British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow, after earlier training in law at the University of Toulouse. Recent exhibitions include Falling Rhythm (Potassi K 19, Barcelona, 2025), Farewell New Year (Winzavod CCA, Moscow, 2024), and group shows at Zotov Centre, U Contemporary, and Cube.Moscow.
