Elena LeTaon Fattakhova | Symbiotic Drift
Elena Le taon Fattakhova (b. 1988, Ufa, USSR) is a Tatar-German artist and architect based in Stuttgart, Germany. Working across sculpture, painting, performance, and architectural interventions, she explores personal trauma and lost ethnic identity as interwoven experiences shaped by family and homeland. With a background in architecture, her practice employs structural thinking, analysis, and a minimal visual language to build both physical and emotional spaces.
Her work addresses vulnerability not as private confession but as a shared condition, inviting others into a dialogue about the consequences of losing personal and cultural foundations. Through minimal forms and hybrid practices, she creates environments where connection, support, and collective reflection can take place.
She studied at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (M.Sc. Archineering) and Ufa State Petroleum Technical University (Diploma in Civil Engineering), and later attended the Freie Kunstschule in Stuttgart. Recent projects include LENAsAKT (LENNART, Stuttgart, 2024–25), Entering the Liminal (Sabantuy Festival, Tbilisi, 2025), and Defence Mechanisms (HDH BAWUE, Stuttgart, 2022).
