Aksana Prutskova | Symbiotic Drift
Aksana Prutskova is an artist whose practice revolves around communication, mimicry, and the search for utopian futures. Working across video installation, performance, and moving image, she investigates oscillations between irony and sincerity, exploring how mimicry operates as a survival strategy in contemporary society and questioning the threshold at which selfhood becomes unstable.
Her works often transform monologue into dialogue, with performance framed both as an artistic medium and as a context of negotiation with time, space, technology, and other people. From social media reactions to conversations with smart speakers, Prutskova situates her practice within a world where communication proliferates across human and nonhuman agents. By engaging viewers directly, she foregrounds participation as a condition of meaning.
Recent exhibitions include Co:Creation of Worlds (MMOMA, Moscow, 2024–25), Cosmoscow Contemporary Art Fair (2024), and projects at Winzavod CCA, Zotov Center, and Nikola-Lenivets.
